Sources: WHO Global Health Observatory (National Health Workforce Accounts, including medical and pathology laboratory scientists and technicians; hospital and health-centre densities from the WHO baseline country survey on medical devices, 2013–14; CT, MRI, PET, nuclear-medicine and radiotherapy units per million people from WHO medical devices surveys) and World Bank World Development Indicators (population, hospital beds per 1,000 people, current health expenditure). Where WHO has no hospital count, official national statistics are used and cited in the country card: American Hospital Association (US), National Health Commission (China), Destatis (Germany), MHLW (Japan), DREES (France), CNES (Brazil) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (India, public sector only). Blood banks have no global series, so they are shown only where a national figure is published. Each figure is the latest year reported, shown beside it. Figures marked ≈ multiply a published rate by the latest population. Data retrieved 2026-10-08.
